PDA Apps the makers of the popular Instant Messenging program Verichat has released an update to their program that supposedly solves the T-Mobile port 80 issue. Unfortunatly all of us here at BBCool are on a BES so we are unable to test it out. If anyone of our readers wants to download the trial and tell us if it works or not that would be very much appreciated.

I’m using the 1.66b version of Verichat on my Blackberry 7100t on T-Mobile, and I can confirm that it does, in fact, work, despite T-Mobile’s port blocking.
I’ve posted about the new version of Verichat, along with the deeper problem of lack of communication, both internally and externally, from T-Mobile about the problem at my website, http://www.tinyscreenfuls.com.
BTW, have you tried Verichat, even though you are on BES? There’s an option in Verichat to “Force MDS”, so you might be able to get it to work.

It works great with a BES, no problems what so ever. We’re working on an IM comparison, should be up sooner or later. Come back when that article is up.
