In 2003 HP actually was rumoured to buy RIM, but nothing came out of that. At that moment RIM was priced at around $33 and 1 1/2 years later it now floats around the mid-70 mark. HP may be regretting that issue because they have now teamed up with Good Technology to bring their GoodLink and GoodAccess technology to their iPAQ handhelds. The GoodLink “push” email technology is already available for the handhelds but HP will now pre-install the software to make it easier for the consumer.
“We are extremely pleased to partner with HP, a dominant force in mobile computing, to deliver more choice to mobile professionals in need of an integrated voice and data connectivity tool, GoodLink and GoodAccess give customers a secure, easy-to-use, end-to-end solution for staying connected to email, Oracle, Salesforce.com, Siebel and other applications they rely on to do business.” Sue Forbes, vice president, Marketing, Good Technology
More choice is always good for the consumer, so we definantly welcome this news.
