The just released new version of Blackberry Desktop software includes the posibility to import/export contacts, calendar and so in a comma separated value (.CSV) format.
As Thunderbird is also able to do it, it becomes now quite easy to sync both.

I am using Google Sync on my blackberry bold and since of late, I am unable to Sync my contacts only from my BB to Google and vice versa. I keep receiving a message “Sync Failed – Please try again later, if the problem persists try signing out and sync and signing again.”
Appreciate an urgent feedback

I hate Outlook and am looking for a way to use Thunderbird and Lightening with my new Blackberry Storm. I like the tutorial written by “mungoh” and I think I’m going to try it. I have also read where you can use goole to sync these programs. Thanks for the suggestions.

I see you post this everywhere someone is looking to Sync BB with Thunderbird.
I assume you are spamming due to posting to so many websites without a real answer.
Most want to sync contacts and calendar not so much emails themselves.

I found a workaround:
sync Thunderbird to Plaxo, Plaxo to Outlook express and outlook Express to Blackberry.
The only problem Plaxo still has few minor bugs. A potential problem is that at some point Plaxo may start charging for this . Otherwise seems to work ok. Setup is all userfriendly.
