T-Mobile will join Cingular by carrying the latest Blackberry, the 7290. I saw some communication today intended to inform customers who may inquire about it, and it says it will retail for $349.99 and will be coming out in “early February.” No exact release date is given but maybe we’ll know more in the coming days. Basically, the 7290 is just like a 7230 but upgraded to quad-band and has bluetooth, like its cousin the 7100t. The 7290 will be black, not blue and will be the same size as the 7230 and has the same kind of keyboard as the 7230. It will be compatible with BES 4.0 and wireless synching, although it didn’t elaborate if that meant synching via bluetooth or over the airwaves of the network.

Hi Matt,
isn’t the post about the 7290?? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the news was about the 7290, not the 7100.
Anyways.
I just wanted to note, that the 7290 has been available with T-Mobile Germany since last year. I got mine in December.
