Jabra Freespeak 250 – Reviewed

Comments

When pairing with the Blackberry 7520 we found the process very simple. The device was able to find the headset on its first try unlike the Plantronics M2500. The official range is 10 meters which we found to be quite accurate.

As per the quality of the sound we found it to be very good. It is less susceptible to wind noise and picking up outside noise. The only complaint was it seemed the headset was not as loud as the Plantronics. Additional features include the ability to transfer calls and to redial the last number directly from the head set.

We do find the Jabra 250 better in almost every aspect than the Plantronics M2500, fit, comfort, features, etc. This it should because the Jabra retails for $129.95 which is $40 more than the Plantronics. We think that the extra cost is easily justifiable and that the Jabra is the clearer choice for the majority of users.

I’m so glad someone is finally doing a review of Bluetooth headsets especially with the Blackberry Devices. Our company is starting to buy the 7250s from Verizon and we are trying to find the perfect Bluetooth Headset to match. So far not very much success. Seems like each device has some sort of shortcoming.

For me I really wanted to like the Jabera BT250, but had too many complaints from test users that it would make a poping and scratching noise on the other end and have a tendency to echo. Also seems to pick up a lot of background noise.

I’m interested in seeing what you guys think of the Jabra BT800.

BT800 might work with the 7250, absolutely useless with the 7520.
I’d advise you contact Jabra before you make your purchase. They seem to have problems with most blackberries.
Bought one for the 7520, has problems picking up calls from the headset, echoes when speaking.
