Now i just want to connect to irc.calindora.com, but whenever i use any of these applications to connect to it, the error message is "Tunnel Failed". Does anyone know of or have a step by step that i can use to connect to the server?

Well, I certainly appreciate all your replies and attempts at helping me out. That certainly was nice of you! I tried everything... went into my Options, Advanced Options, Applications, changed the settings to allow everything for jmirc, all connections, etc., and keep getting the same thing... any server I try to connect to, it ends up saying, "Exception: Timed Out" at the end. Oh well. I did call Verizon a few days ago, and they couldn't help me because jmirc is not Verizon-supported.

Hi there - thank you so much for taking the time to respond. :) In my Blackberry Curve 8330 I looked in the > Options > Advanced Options > and there was no option for TCP. The link you included says this about my carrier:"Verizon - Has TCP/IP Newer models including 7250 and 7130 now has a TCP/IP stack, no configuration is needed. Many third party Internet applications work out of the box on it! However, the older 6750 and 7750 models will NOT work with TCP/IP"

I am not sure what this means. Should my phone be compatible with jmirc? Or should I search for another irc client?

You need to configure APN with your providers details. Go to > Options > Advanced Options > TCP.

If your provider is: Movistar then

APN: internet.movistar.ve
