Good Technology and NTP Enter Into License Agreement

Things seems like it may be getting personal between RIM and Good Technology. NTP a patent holding company which is currently in a big legal battle over RIM infriging on its patents, has now agreed to license those same patents to Good Technology. Good Technology provides its own version of push-email technology and competes directly with RIM’s technology. You should note that NTP has vested interests having investments in Good Technology. So now if RIM loses its court appeal it would have to pay royalties to NTP, which is partnered with Good Technology.
