OTTAWA – Idokorro Mobile Inc., a leading mobile IT administration solution provider, announced today that version 2.0 of Mobile SSH for BlackBerry® is now available. BlackBerry is developed and manufactured by Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM). Earlier this year, we had a look at Idokorro’s Mobile SSH version 1.0, you can read our review here …
Mobile SSH is a client-only SSH and Telnet solution that allows users to access their AS/400, Unix, and Linux computers, routers and switches wirelessly using their BlackBerry Wireless Handheldâ„¢. The new version also offers IBM 5250 emulation, which allows users to access AS/400 and iSeries servers.
Antle is one of the largest family-owned-and-operated produce companies in America’s Salad Bowl, the legendary Salinas Valley of California. Abel Valdez is an IT Administrator for Tanimura & Antle, and he uses Idokorro Mobile SSH with 5250 emulation on his BlackBerry handheld to access the corporate AS/400 when he’s on-the-go. Mr. Valdez reports on a recent incident where Mobile SSH provided the flexibility and function he’s come to rely on:“I was on my way to dinner when a priority call came in that a user had locked themselves out of our AS/400. I logged in while traveling, and reset the password, user down time…5 minutes.â€
New or improved features in version 2.0 include:
* IBM 5250 emulation for powerful AS/400 access
* SSH1 and SSH2 support
* Enhanced VT100 emulation, including support for color
* Improved user interface
Mobile SSH is compatible with all BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds.
The software is available for immediate download and free trial from www.idokorro.com. It may also be downloaded OTA (over-the-air) using the BlackBerry Browserâ„¢ from www.idokorro.com. The upgrade to 2.0 is free for all existing Mobile SSH customers.
