According to Reuters, NTP is seeking licensing deals from other companies that provide push-email technology after it has settled for $450 million with RIM.
“There are several deals that are cooking as we speak. It will probably take two or three or four more weeks for those to be announced,” he told Reuters in an interview. “Everybody is coming out with ‘push e-mail’ to telephone handsets with full QWERTY keyboards. So as good a job as (RIM) have done, we think that they are just the tip of the iceberg of what’s available here.”
NTP currently licenses its patents to Nokia, Good Technology, and now RIM.
