While not free either, it is only $29.95 a year, it is not very expensive for ability to spell both e-mails and documents. We’re welcoming competition :-) .

It has a slick UI, supports BB 3.6 and above, and have various features not found in deadsticks speller. Free is of course nice, but bbSpell also has a free version. I suggest you take a look.
