RIM reported a fourth-quarter loss for it’s Fourth Quarter as growing sales of its BlackBerry wireless e-mail device were offset by the $450 million settlement of its patent infringement lawsuit with NTP Inc. RIM reported a loss of $2.6 million, or 1 cent per share, in the fourth quarter ending Feb. 26. Adjusted to exclude the settlement costs and other one-time items, RIM reported net income of 71 cents a share. This comes as great news to the Waterloo-based company which beat Wall Street expectations of 65 cents per share.
Total subscribers have passed the 2.5 million mark, reaching 2.51 million from 1.07 million at the end of the last fiscal year.
