According To Globe and Mail, Rogers Wireless is set to launch its own branded push-email technology to compete with RIM. Rogers is already one of the biggest Blackberry retailers in Canada, but are now wanting to keep more of the proceeds of lucrative data plans. Rogers technology will be called MyMail and be powered by Visto Technology, a California-based company that offers similiar push-email technology. The strong point with Visto that it is non-platform dependant, Rogers will be able to offer MyMail to various platforms from Nokia, Microsoft, and Palm.
Other carriers that already license Visto technology are Nextel, Telus, AT&T, KPN, and a few others.
