The beauty with InHand everything is so simple, you can select the program to view the description, view a screen, download the trial if it’s available or buy the program out right. An issue we found was when using the Blackberry 7100t there were no available screenshots for any of the programs. Screenshots showed up perfectly fine when using the Blackberry 7510. It also takes a bit too long to retrieve screenshots, even if no screen shots are available. Speaking of issues, Handango decided to leave out mapping the ‘enter’ button for selection. We have complained about this lots with other programs, not everyone will just solely use the thumb-wheel.
Purchasing the programs is made simple as well; you have two options to buy one time or to use your GoPass account to expedite the purchasing process. Your GoPass account already has your payment information so you just enter your email and password to purchase the product. If you do not have a GoPass account you can register directly with InHand or you can do it through the website if you feel safer. Trials and purchases are also kept track in something that is called ‘My Downloads’ which is a pretty useful feature.
We like this program from Handango and believe it can be very beneficial to the development of the Blackberry platform. By Handango making it easier to install and find programs for your Blackberry it will help in the way of more developers offering more Blackberry solutions. Let’s face it, one of the negative points for having a Blackberry is the lack of 3rd party software titles. Hopefully this will change and we become more on par with the likes of Palm and Window CE users.
