The Blackberry 7100 devices comes in many variants, T-Mobiles 7100t, Rogers 7100r, O2’s 7100x, Vodafone’s 7100v, and of course the general 7100g. You may have noticed that although the internal hardware is the same they all come with different home screens. RIM calls these themes, just like WinAmp where you can change the “skin”, you can also change your theme for your Blackberry 7100.
Here’s how:
1. Download the following file to your PC:

2. Unzip the file to your Desktop.
3. Connect your Blackberry to your computer.
4. Open up Desktop Manager –> Application Loader –> Add.
5. Find the file called “Themes.alx” and hit “OK”.
After the installation finishes, you can now change your themes by going to Settings –> Options –> Themes.

Do these themes work with 72xx devices?
Although the “default” theme in this download is pretty sweet, The calculator function doesnt work under this theme.

I installed the themes as instructed, but when trying to select any i get the error: Uncaught exception: Unable to find parent
HELP!!!!!!!
I installed these themes for my 7100g. They work, but the one I prefer (T Mobile) screws up the calculator function. It doesn’t line up right. Calculator still works when I switch back to default theme (list) that came with Blackberry.
Followed the steps to the “T” and I get the error message of “no additional applications designed for your handheld for your handheld were found.” Can anyone help me with this? My e-mail is bryan.y.yu@gmail.com
Uploaded and worked perfectly. Just be warned that it might take your 7100t awhile to actually boot up. I thought I screwed up my phone, but in the end it worked out fine. Also keep in mind that the options tend to move around with the new icons. It takes some getting used to and some patience.
p.s. I dig the 02 default.
i think something very wrong has happened. the PC program loaded the software fine, but it is still booting up (spinning hourglass). it’s been about 20 minutes… any suggestions what to do??

Now that I installed these themes over the two that came with my 7105 everything is hosed. Icons are messed up, additional stuff I don’t want or need has been added. I tried removing this via the App Loader…didn’t work. Did a hard reset on the device…still have everything. How can I get back to the default T-Mobile configuration of just the two themes and get this other stuff off my BB. Thanks.
Do you know if there is anything new/special to do to get these working on the 7130 class devices? I have the 7130C (cingular) and could load the themes, but then there is no option to activate them (use them). I can use the cingular theme and other bb themes that came with the device. tried downloading a theme and that was unable to be activated also

great, this has totally buggered my blackberry. I also get the unable to locat parent message and cannot remove the themes, even when doing a hard reset or clear the blackberry.
and now I cant add any more apps as it crashes.

why can’t i download these on my phone, i mean i have it all connected and then it says that its been put on my phone. but its not showing up.
my 7100x requires a 4.1 version of operating system to load the theme. please can anyone direct me how i can get this OS? regards.

i believe we might be having the same problem. it could be that your operating system cannot upload it. find out what your OS is and report to us
my 7290 is also out of order after installing/de installing these themes.They never worked and after the install the 7290 just rebooted and came back up all bugged out,meaning keyboard is out and display horrible…
help!!!!
When i receive an email it is shown as ‘Received using : Unknown (Secure)’.
So i try to reply an email and guess what…
There is no “Send” button…
Eventhough i liked the default theme it is useless…
My phone is BROKEN now after installing the themes on my 7100 from rogers. The hourglass just spins. Thanks BUDDY. Any clues on how to fix this problem?
The reason these themes are not working for many people is THEY ARE NOT USING A COMPATIBLE DEVICE 7100 does not mean 7290 or 8100, it means anything within the 7100 class, great themes btw works a treat on my 7100g, remember always check compatibility.

Oh wow. I was going to download that zip to add new themes until I read the plethora of comments from people who bricked their blackberry. Okay, so if I have a blackberry pearl 8300, where can I find themes? Oh, btw, opening the menu in the theme option window will give you an option to download themes via your phone. Unfortunately, the screen this takes you to (MEdia Net for Cingular Users) has no themes. Any ideas?
How do you load themes on the bb 7100t? The OS version is 4.0. I need help.

Funny thing in application loader i dont see the ALX file but i do see other data (xxxk) but i dont see a alx file.
well u can download the file by right-clicking it and choose save target as or save link as
