I’ve got the fix for this problem.
I’ve bot a Blackberry that my company supplies me and I can’t send a simple text message to a phone number.
What I did was turn it off, put it on my desk, take out my iphone, and used my iphone to text.
If you have an Android or Windows phone, those will work to.

I just tried changing from 7 bit to USC2, then circuit switched, and changed the mobilw network from 3G&2G to 2G. Now I can send sms with no problem!

I just recently bought a blackberry curve 8320 off of ebay and have simple mobile. When I tried what everyone said, I went into options, clicked on sms, but for the data coding it only gave me the option 7 bit or UCS2. And for network to send over, It gives me the options CS, CS Preferred, PS Preferred, or PS. Its default is on CS for Network To Send Over, and for Data Coding, the default is 7 bit. But in my sms text, if I just start a blank new chat, click on compose SMS text, I click that, type my message and it says it sent! I did tests and texted my sister’s phone that way (started a blank chat by clicking compose SMS text) but then I look at my sisters phone, and it says she didn’t get the message! But on my 8320 it says it was sent! The only way I can send SMS, is if the person texts me first and I have to press reply and they get it. So if I want to text someone, they always have to text me first, or I have to scroll down my whole message list to find a text from them, and click reply! Someone please help me to be able to send SMS by just clicking the date and press compose, because right now, it is not letting me even though it says the message sent.

Hi I have done someting to my phone I received a text message and now when I try to respond I get an error “INVALID MANDATORY INFORMATION” also “REQUESTED FACILITY NO IMPLEMENTED” can you help I tried all the above tips and still not working I accidently errased the service contact number and dont know it to put it back in,,,,,,can you help

when you go into messages try clicking menu>view folder>sms inbox and you should be able to view your messages from there.

1. Circuit switched
2. Circuit switched preferred
3. Packet switched preferred
4. Packet switched
