I had the same problem, went on a trip for two weeks, didn’t bring a charger, phone was completely dead. when I got home, I couldn’t turn on the phone even when it was plugged into the wall charger. it just cycled between red LED turning on and the charge icon showing on the screen.

I called Roger blackberry tech support and it turned out to be an easy fix:
1. Plug wall charger into wall and then plug into blackberry
2. Take off back cover and pull the battery out (while it is plugged in still)
3. Wait 30 seconds. The red LED may remain on (tech said it didn’t matter).
4. Put the battery back in and wait about 5-10 seconds and it’ll begin to boot up (white screen with clock icon).

It may take longer than normal to boot up b/c battery was very dead. the tech support guy called this “jump starting” the battery. hope that helps you guys. it worked for me. no problems since.

I have a blackberry pearl 8100 that i got from a friend, but it doesn’t not turn on. There is no blinking light when i try to turn it on. Is this a completely dead battery or a completely dead phone? Is there any hope for this phone?

alright i have the blackberry tour for about 2 weeks and it wont turn on for nothing i dont know what happen like out of no where it wouldnt power on can someone please help by giving ideas on what to do, and if so is there any way that i can get my contacts back without restoring the phone?

i have an unlocked blackberry storm on tmobile…it recently turned off and when i took the battery out and put it back in it cut right back off saying the media card removed….then after an hour or so it wont turn on again at all..no blinking light or anything

finally, a site that doesn’t require me to register. here’s what i have found with blackberrys, esp the bold. i too was having all of these issues, it wouldn’t turn on but had an orange light on it and all it was doing (not doing) seemed quite similar everything that has been mentioned on these forums. it drove me mad. i had have two identical blackberry bolds with me, one turns on and the other doesn’t, both brand new. if i switch the batteries then the OTHER one turns on, so i knew it was a battery issue. i tried charging the one and swapping again, generally just trying to achieve every possible combination of working parts. i would charge the one with the funny battery, and then the light would just go off again. weird. then i took the battery out, plugged the phone in to charge and, and THEN put the battery back in, and it seemed to “jolt” the phone, an then everything worked. it seems that it’s true that they need a lot of juice to start, because when i got the one working again, it was DEAD, dead dead dead. i don’t know what causes this issue exactly, but it seems like giving the phone a bit of a fright works. a lot of people spoke of wiping the phone clean and reinstalling everything, and i was close to that, but i would suggest just fiddling first. hope that helps someone. oh, and these thigns also seem to charge pretty damn slowly, keep that in mind.

i accidently threw my blackberry on the floor and now it wont turn on the only thing that turns on is the red light at first then it stops for a few seconds then the green light turns on but the screen wont light up does it mean i broke it? wut should i do please help

I just bought a new blackberry bold. Initially I inserted the battery without sim and turned it on upon removing from box, it did turn on. I inserted the sim after, and it wont turn on anymore, even when charged. What happened there? is this normal? I need help.

something similar happened to me, I rebooted the phone (Blackberry Bold) and it never came back on. not even a led, I did tried a lot of things I read in the internet, charging the battery for one day and the while pluged taking the battery off, pressing the mute and the on button simultaneously for 30 secs, non of that worked.
what I did befor sending it to ATT, was taking the battery off for a couple of days, and when I put it back on, boom!! I saw the red light !!, and then it came back on!
you should try that.

I have a blackberry 7130g and when I turn it on it has vertical bars on the screen the keypad lights up and it charges. sometimes it makes sounds. Please help i hope that new blackberry os is out so i can upgrade it because i was told it’s an OS fault

I Have a blackberry 9000 bold, it was off and when I turned it on, it won’t turn on but the LED red light keeps blinking!! I only got it months ago as well

so i threw my blackberry in a fight of joy and i believe it is broken. the screen stayed white with a black vertical line through the center of the screen. I took out the battery and tried to turn the device back on but no luck. Could I have possibly destroyed the OS, or is my LCD screen broken? Are there any solutions to my apparent problem?

my blackberry wont even load up the main screen. i turn on the blackberry by holding the end call button for a few seconds. then a red light show solid at the top. then the scren appears white with aa sandglass telling me to wait. i have waited for over 2 hours for this device to load up, but it wont work. is there any way t fix it?

Hi, I just bought a 8700g. It work fine, but now I download a theme and the BB reset and doesn’t turn on… it just appear the clock… but doesn’t do anything else…
I do a reset by turning the power off and taking the battery out… but nothing… HELP!!!!

Doing a reset by turning the power off, and by just taking the battery out, for 30s, and then putting it back in, worked for me, after multiple times to make the speaker work again. My problem is that it turns itself off for no apparent reason..it warns you it’s turning off unless you hit any key.

I have a blackberry 7100 and recently the speaker doesn’t work. People can here me talking but I can here them. It seems the speaker has broken, it doesn’t work on speakerphone either. Handsfree headset should work though. Do you think this is a hardware or software problem? Is there a reboot or update to fix this?

I bought a blackberry 7230 on ebay, add said it would work with vodafone or t-mobile, i insert my t-mobile sim card and is not recognized by the phone.
How can I unlock the BB for sure, so it works with my t card?

I can’t wait to get the new BlackBerry. I hate the 7100. SureType is terrible, very time cosuming and frustrating. The speakerphone is very bad- I constantly have to speak into the phone after turning off the speaker because the speakerphone is usually unintelligible.
