The calculator use to be a sore spot and was horrible to use but has been improved so much in the Blackberry 8700 that you can probably replace your basic calculator. With the 8700 the calculator has been mapped to the keys. Instead of showing the typical calculator layout, you can now see the layout matches the exact layout of the QWERTY keyboard. So there’s no more need to use the track wheel like previous versions of the calculator. The 7100 devices also have the calculator mapped to their keys but it’s still not as easy to use as the 8700 because you still needed to hold the shift button to get certain keys.
