Market Blackberry Fate
According to yesterday’s late day selling of RIMM you may think investors aren’t being too optimistic about today’s ruling. However, the pre-market activity right before the case has been pretty much even, with RIM only being down 0.32%.

So this a call to all our readers to predict what will happen today. You can now put your words down in writing and have bragging rights if you predict the right outcome.

    I predict a settlement for $85mm to NTP with all rights, royalties and patents remaining with NTP and we will not see a bit of difference from the user side.

    Has anyone thought or traced any other motivation for NTP’s actions? Could this be another SCO with microshaft pulling the puppets strings? If so then with nothing but worthless patents NTP has nothing to lose and all to gain by shutting down microshafts main competitor.

    In the mean time bad press, and nervousness from some Blackberry users give microshaft and other “alternatives” business which one doesn’t belong to them. Saddly blackberry users who try the “alternatives” will find there is really nothing as good as blackberry. RIM and Blackberry are not the leaders in the market on a fluke. RIM and Blackberry’s solution is just the BEST.

    I am really interested who and what is pulling NTP’s strings. There is no way NTP is doing this by themselves.

    Secret Agreement. No injunction. Later we will find that NTP settled for costs of all the litigation.

    NTP will want to have all their options open in case they want to litigate with someone less strong. They can say, “See, even RIM settled with us.”

    I think RIM will settle and the workaround invoked. NTP seem to be trying to stop an important developement in the Mobile Industry. IMB let the patents go on there PC’s, it’s about time NTP realised whats for the better and just settle for some cash so the World can get on with being Crackberry Addicts.

    I think RIM will settle and the workaround invoked. NTP seem to be trying to stop an important developement in the Mobile Industry. IMB let the patents go on there PC’s, it’s about time NTP realised whats for the better and just settle for some cash so the World can get on with being Crackberry Addicts.

    I too am curious as to NTP’s motovation in these patent lawsuits. NTP has no use for these patents they are not developing and deploying this beneficial technology. Instead they are just greedy patent holders who are holding back the progress of beneficial technology for sake of their own greed. I agree with the statement listed above for a small patent holding company NTP is pulling out some big guns, makes you wander who elese they have hidden in there corner. An injuction will be decided by Spencer he has no choice in the manner. RIM’s workaround can be deployed in the meantime untill a new case can be opened and with the Patent Office rejecting NTP’s patents RIM can finaly stick it to NTP.
