Consilient has revealed more of their push email service which they are now labelling “Consilient Push.” The push email service from the RIM partner turned competitor will send email directly to mobile devices for as little as US$3 a month. The service will work with a variety of phones including Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola, and Sanyo as well as Blackberry and Treo.
Consilient Push is based on Push-IMAP and is open-standard technology which consilient say this is an advantage over closed-standard proprietors like Microsoft and Blackberry’s RIM. Consilient indicate the service is is protected by 128-bit SSL encryption and has network support for the triband approach of GSM/GPRS/EDGE and also for Wi-Fi connections.
