This is a fix that worked quickly on my curve. The only modification is to note is that if you have a track ball, use the track ball (instead of the wheel) to click on the bold option in the ‘host routing table’ menu. Then go back to your desktop and…. there it is! This fix took me less than one minute. THANKS!

On my BB Storm I do not have an option “Start Provisioning”.
How can I populate my host routing table?
(my HRT is empty, no access to RIM and this is because I was tempted to upgrade to the 5.0.0.140 OS system. Big mistake…)

I have a Unlocked BlackeBerry Storm from Verizon but I am using it for my T-Mobile as a GSM phone. The browswer is missing and I have tried every step but nothing is working. Pls help

This was making my head explode and I found help via sprint.com I’m not sure if it will help any of you but here you go…try it! It worked for me

1. Click your Options icon.
2. Select Mobile Network.
3. Press the Menu key and select Start Provisioning. Wait for the device to provision. You will receive a notice when provisioning is complete.
4. Return to the Options menu.
5. Select Advanced Options.
6. Select Host Routing Table.
7. Press the Menu key and select Register Now. You will receive a notice when registration is complete.
8. Return to the main BlackBerry page where you should now find your internet browser icon.

I just did a restore of a previous backup and had the same problem on my 8330 curve. Freaked out when I didn’t see the browser. Tried all sorts of things, then found this article. Immediately went to the Host Routing Tables, clicked the bold entry, and selected “Register Now”. Ten seconds later the browser was back and I had received an email from blackberry alerting me that my “handheld had been registered with the wireless network”. Have no idea how this works, but it worked PERFECTLY. Thanks!!

If your device is on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES), ensure it is DATA ENABLED and hey presto the browser icon will appear.

I recently upgraded my t-mobile to 4.5 and had only t-zone and a hotspot browser, no “internet browser”. This fix worked like a charm. Thanks!

Ive also tried everything in the above I have a blackberry bold 9000, and ive spent the past 3 days on the phone to t-mobile looking for my browser and internet. I cant live without it!!! I was wondering is there anything else I can do to get the browser?

i have a blackberry pearl and i also have tried:

1. Options –> Advanced Options –> Host Routing Tables.

2. In this screen you may see several entries, ignore the others and highlight the bold entry.

3. Wheel-click and select ‘Register Now’.

4. Close the screen and go back to the Home Screen. Give about 30 seconds for your browser to reappear.

but i have had no results…said it was registered but browser did not re-appear….Please help!

I was missing my browser right out of the box…and I tried all the steps. even spent two’s on the phone with a rep and nothing. I just had to replace the phone all together because nothing they did was working. It was almost like the phone didnt want to receive the data or something.

I figured this one out. I went to themes, clicked menu button, selected Reset Theme Defaults, and it went back to my Verizon home screen photo and the browser icon was back! I was then able to change my home screen image and settings back to what I wanted. Don’t know why I never tried this prior, perhaps because I only have one theme?!?!?

I have a blackberry storm and this solution did not work. Upon re-registering, I got a message saying I’ve registered – No icon. I then took out the battery for 30 seconds and brought the device back up – still no icon. Note that on restart when the home page first showed, I got an unhandled exception error but clicked OK and continued as normal. Help please.

Thanks so much! This actually worked. I had spent an 1 hour on the phone with tech support, then another hour in the Verizon store and no one could fix it. They told me that the only thing they could do was ship me another phone. So I decided to google it and luckily found this site. Verizon Wireless customer service, wireless data support, and in-store technicians suck!

is the medianet browser same as the blackberry browser? i tried to look for the blackberry browser and did the hrt suggestion and i got a message saying i was registered but no new browser icon appeared… so.. is there something wrong? im on the unlimited data plan for blackberry. thanks
