RIM reports its earnings for the fiscal fourth quarter after the closing bell today. RIM estimates a range of 64 cents to 66 cents per share on revenue of $550 million to $560 million, down from a previous forecast of 76 cents to 81 cents per share and $590 million to $620 million in revenue. Both estimates exclude costs from its recently settled patent dispute with NTP Inc. On average, analysts polled by Thomson Financial are expecting the company to post earnings of 67 cents per share and $567.2 million in sales.
This 3Q could be one of the most crucial quarters for RIM, expect them to address the issues of Blackberry sales post-settlement and their thoughts on the increasing competition from big name companies like Microsoft and Nokia.
