RIM Co-CEO says Visto’s strategy is ‘brazen’

Comments

BalsillieResearch In Motion’s co-CEO, Jim Balsillie, had strong words for Visto on Tuesday while downplaying worries that RIM’s business will be hit less than two months after settling a similar lawsuit. When asked if the new patent lawsuit was an indication of company weakness on the part of RIM, Balsille pointed to the other companies Visto has filed against for patent infringement, which include Microsoft:

I don’t think we’re an easy target. We’re the sixth of six, who knows who’s going to be next. This is a company [Visto] who is clearly targeting everybody in its space to file suits…It’s a brazen strategy to sue absolutely everybody, including the most valuable company in the world.
