RIM issued a customer support email last night in response to Microsoft’s Exchange Sever update that’s being released today. In the email, RIM confirms that the update “will prevent users on BlackBerry Enterprise Server from sending email from a BlackBerry or BlackBerry-enabled device.”
To combat the problem, RIM has added an article to their Technical Support Knowledge Base. It can be found here.
Microsoft has also issued a support release which can be found here.
The fix is apparently fairly simple and straightforward, requiring only a few configuration settings to be changed. However, RIM is recommending a careful reading of both theirs and Microsoft’s articles before making any changes.
