I think this should be pretty simple; keep the elements of what each is best at:

Apple – Hardware
RIM – Enterprise Software
Apple – Music Software
RIM – Syncing [although incorporate .Mac]
RIM – Phone
Apple – Photo Software
RIM – Contact Management Software
Apple – Web Browser [with an RSS downloading application]
Apple – IM

Cost should be around $299. This should be an INTEGRATED device; not along the failures of the Motorola collaboration, where the hardware simply tried to incorporate the software. Each company has great designers of both software and hardware and should put the best of each together. Who wouldn’t buy such a device?!

blackberry is a superb devise and a complete set of sollution for a business tycoon…..
it is not only meant for business ppl but any person who need a link to the world wide web should have this device…
it is 100% convenient to use and can fit easily into neone’s pocket….
but it is said that every rose has a thorn similarly blackberry is alsoharmfull particularly if u fet addicted to it……

I believe an AppleBerry is in the works, but will not be as revolutionary as people would like. I believe it will still be a secure Blackberry, but with Apple-branded multimedia extensions.

Here is what I believe the configuration will be:

* iTunes using the existing BB roller wheel and buttons rather than an iPod disc
* Support for OTA iTunes downloads
* No MP3 support; only tracks purchased through iTunes or ripped from a CD via Desktop iTunes
* Direct Desktop iTunes to BB sync (like MobiPocket Book Reader and DBViewer Plus)
* Stereo headphone jack (of course!)
* 1Gb to 2GB memory
* There will be NO mini-SD or camera. Remember RIM says they are coming out with a prosumer rather than a consumer model. My take on that is they still want to maintain the secure business image while providing some multimedia “luxuries”.
* Better web browser more akin to that available on a Pocket PC or Treo
* Better support for graphics for album art display and video playback
* Better integration with Mac OS (it will be an Apple requirement) with some Apple bells and whistles
* iTunes video playback, however no streaming webcasts.
* Custom case colors and mods supported including Apple iPod while and shiny black.

Although not revolutionary, these small additions to a Blackberry would make a killer product.

Blackberry + iPod = one heck of a superbrand!!!

Camera? I disagree, unless Apple or RIM make some nice photo site, like how simple and beautiful Flickr works, where I can take my picture and send them OTA to that site.

I want a device that can fit in my hand, and I never have to sync it up with anything, ever.

The only plausible way I really see this happening is if they integrate into a beefed-up consumer BlackBerry. Right now BlackBerry runs pretty lean using a low amount of shared flash with 64 MB in the top unit. Running iPod software would require at least 256 MB and begins to be palatable at 1GB. If a better consumer device is really in the works and it begins with more flash memory I think it would be great opportunity to include a camera. Though bad for military and government workers, a camera in a BlackBerry would be great news for tons of other trades from real estate agent to socialite. Everybody has been talking about convergence in portable devices and nothing would please me more to see RIM and at the head of the pack.

Having mac’s around some five years, going from several models to a recent macbook pro… the new Blackberry 8700v I use is a definite plus.
I use the pocketmac pro app to sync all my data, and profuse use of google talk, like ichat, joining by Jabber services all my IM needs.
I believe there will be a newer, more fashionable device, but a better software integration is the probable key.
Apple can easily integrate RIM needs for the device in the OS, providing a clear integration even with .mac online service.
.mac has several services (bookmark sync, address book, ical publishing) that can be open to a RIM platform like a BES server does for Exchange.
The key of this union is not in a common device but in a cross-sell partnership.
If an iTunes player works on this phone, is a simple task. The current iTunes player on the motorola is a MIDP 2.0 app, porting to a recent Blackberry should be as tough as the media player you reported earlier.
One plus of this union could be bluetooth sync, that currently is unavailable.

I don’t like Itunes, so an Ipod BB is a total turn off for me. I would like to see other more useful consumer devices. Even a normal MP3 player would be better. I have a nice MP3 player.
As for cost… how about free… a girl can dream.
