Palm Announces New Treo

PalmPalm announced today the arrival of a new, European only UMTS/3G Treo by the end of the year. Palm will launch the new Treo in Europe through Vodafone and has confirmed that it will run Windows Mobile 5.0.

“The new Treo smartphone will be a market-leading device, which combined with our high-speed 3G/UMTS network and real-time push email, will make this an invaluable business tool,” said Nick Jeffery, global director of Business Marketing, Vodafone.

Palm kindly neglected to announce any firm hardware specs for the new Treo, but if you still need a gadget fix, Engadget Mobile is showing leaked shots of a new Palm device (dubbed “Hollywood”) which sports WM5, 128MB of internal storage and a 412MHz Intel XScale processor that will probably launch on Cingular’s network.
