RIM soliciting game developers?

Research in MotionOur happy go lucky friends over at QuicklyBored posted something interesting today in their Day 1 impressions of the Mobile Game Conference. It seems as though RIM has a booth at the conference and is looking to attract more developers to make games for BlackBerry.

When we contacted QuicklyBored, they told us that while RIM has obviously always had games on the BlackBerry platform (some of which you’ve seen reviewed here), this is the first time they’ve consciously made a push in the conference circuit to reach out to developers. This is probably another indication that RIM is looking to expand beyond the enterprise space and offer a more consumer-based lineup, as they previously have never been to quick to play up the BlackBerry’s gaming capabilities (not surprising seeing as they usually market it as a productivity device).
