Ah, nothing like waking up in the morning to a fresh stack of BlackBerry 8100 rumors. Let’s take a look at what this lovely Wednesday morning has brought to us:
— the_chen_man, who tried to sell one of RIM’s pre-release 8100s on eBay (which is kind of a ballsy move) gives us some info on the coveted device’s features. Firstly, the camera will be in the 1-2 megapixel range (a little obvious, but still) and that the 8100 does indeed have GPS features (something we feel was a little overlooked when the news broke).
— Notorious BlackBerry insider Boy Genius has posted on HowardForums that he can’t get the 8100’s movie playback to work, which tells us that either that feature isn’t ready yet or it hasn’t been enabled on the device Boy Genius is using.
— BBHub is reporting that one of his readers who works for Sprint is sure the 8100 won’t be coming to them during the fall, but that they will be getting the 8703 shortly. This doesn’t tell us too much. Sprint is notoriously slow when it comes to getting new BlackBerry models, so we can’t use them as a litmus test for when the majority of carriers will be getting the 8100. This is especially true considering that our sources tell us that the 8100 is (barring any major technical glitch) only a few weeks away, instead of months. We’re talking back to school time here, folks.
