BlackJacker on Podcast, will release BBProxy source code

Jessie D’Aguanno, the consultant for information technology risk management firm Praetorian Global who became an instant celebrity last week, is showing no signs of slowing down. Not only does the hacker intend to release the source code of his BBProxy application virus this week, to “highlight the folly of treating BlackBerry environments as more secure than external connections from corporate laptops,” but he’s also just been interviewed by Craig Johnston of Mobile Computing Authority, which has been put into podcast form here.

It’s interesting to note that while everyone has gotten excited over the prospect that BlackBerrys are hackable, no one has seemed to realize that RIM has already said that OS 4.1 is completely capable of repelling the virus. Oh well.

Somehow I think the percentage of BES OS’es out there still probably shows a majority of folks not using 4.1.
