China Mobile, the world’s largest cellular provider and the company that’s helping to bring the first official BlackBerry to China very soon, recently released their 6 month financial results. So how are they doing? Well, thank you.
China Mobile’s first half net profit was 30.2 billion yuan (3.8 billion USD), a 26% jump compared to the 24 billion yuan earned in the first half last year. Basic earnings per share also rose to 1.52 yuan, up 25% from a year earlier. In the first half of 2006, China Mobile gained 25.8 million new subscribers, pushing its total base to 274 million.
