Nearly one-week after the fact and we’re still talking about it? Sorry, folks, but we’re sure you’re alright with it. An in-depth report from the New York Times says what the majority of both industry outsider and insiders have been mumbling about for a few months now: the Pearl is a huge step in the right direction. The report shows that the Pearl will be heavily distributed by the majority of mobile carriers.
“Initially the Pearl is being offered only by T-Mobile in the United States. But it is expected that most, if not all, of the 300 or so carriers that now offer BlackBerrys will add the new unit to their lineups. Mr. Hyers said that while rival devices, like the Palm Treo, had received positive reviews, their e-mail services, offered by companies such as Good Technologies, had not reached the BlackBerry’s level.”
