Good to know that the hype is kind of paying off. Cellular News reports that Merril Lynch has looked into 20 T-Mobile stores, and sale results of the Pearl are looking pretty swell. Some stores reportedly sold out in the first week despite the lack of a huge media campaign. There’s a pretty interesting tidbit wedged in the middle of the article:
“While the analysts noted that there is some cannibalization of the 8700g device, they believe the net impact of the Pearl is extremely positive. In their view RIM will continue to push hard in the consumer segment, with the Pearl just being the first of a family of launches.”
MMmmm. Cannibalization. All in all, sounds like things are going swimmingly for RIM and the Pearl. Really can’t wait for more news on this “family” of launches.
