I personally work in a secure environment and there's no option of just turning off a camera feature. It's either there or it isn't. I've been going crazy trying to find phones with the required feature, yet not having a camera. They're so cheap to add and so many people go crazy over having a camera built in that's it's almost a no-brainer, but you would be cutting out most of the government, defense contractors, and other secure facility workers. Personally, I prefer without. I plan on being a long time BB supporter because of the cameraless option. Now I say option, because I thought I read another phone to be released shortly after with the camera feature available.

[...] We’re easing you into the news really gently today. Neat little tidbit to start-off. Thought has sent us in a link to a site called Size Easy. Size Easy lets you enter dimensions of any product (say, a BlackBerry Pearl?) and compare it to other items (say, like, a 30 GB iPod and a deck of playing cards) - and you can see how your product… sizes up. Pretty interesting tool - maybe this is the wave of the future and will replace those side by side shots that are always floating around. [...]

[...] Thought’s been working overtime and has been kind enough to slide us this article in the Wall Street Journal regarding RIM’s Q2 results. And since that’s all people seem to be talking about today in the BlackBerry world, we’ll fuel the fire with this. RBC Capital’s Mike Abramsky calls the results “Su-PEARL-ative”, and analysts are all-a-chatter with optimism for RIM. UBS Investment’s Rob Dennison is forecasting a 45.9% replacement rate for the BlackBerry device in fiscal 2007 and 37.6% in fiscal 2008. “While the replacement rate now appears more reasonable relative to historical replacement rates, we believe our (fiscal 2008) implied replacement rate could again prove conservative,” he said in a note.
