T-Mobile Dash makes its way to market

Comments

tmodash.jpgWe haven’t talked about the Dash whatsoever.  Thankfully Engadget’s kept their side of the bargain up and brought us more info on it than we really want.  T-Mobile is launching their new Dash device today to a decent amount of fanfare.

“It’s safe to say the Dash is probably the most T-Mobile anticipated device of the second half of this year, and with good reason. We’ve loved this thing ever since we laid hands on it.”

And coming from Engadget, that’s pretty serious business.  The Dash’ll set you back about $350 sans contract, and the price only lowers from there.  If you’re interested, specs are posted below.

  • 2.4-inch transflective TFT display
  • Quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE
  • WiFi and Bluetooth
  • 128MB flash, 64MB SDRAM, microSD slot
  • 1.3 megapixel camera
  • myFaves support
  • 960mAh battery (vs 1130mAh on the Moto Q)
  • 4.4 x 2.5 x 0.5-inch body (vs 4.57 x 2.5 x 0.47-inches on Q)
  • 4.2 ounces (vs 4.06 ounces on Q)

As someone else mentioned in the discussion on engadget…I would have thought that the Pearl was the most anticipated T-Mo release of the second half of the year. Perhaps I’m in too much of a BB cocoon, but it seems to me that the Pearl got alot more pre-release buzz, even skyrocketing the stock price of RIM.

This Dash may be a good unit, but I just don’t see that it can be declared as so highly anticipated.
