It was never really confirmed, but according to the Globe and Mail (who make a report according to analyst Paul Howbold at Desjardins Securities Inc.) the Pearl’s debut on the Cingular network is less than a month away. Howbold predicts that Cingular’s launch of the BlackBerry 8100c in conjunction with the UK release of the Pearl should “produce 850,000 net new customers for RIM in the third quarter, up from his earlier estimate of 825,000.” Yowsers.
