Stronger Pulse for your BlackBerry

pulse.jpgI feel like we’re all being given the tools to become amazing spies. Like how when, say, Jean Claude Van Damme an intelligent James Bond would whip out his over-the-top laptop and cell phone, connect to the internet and foil some mastermind’s plan? Thanks to BrainMurmur, one of the best-named companies yet, Apple and Windows users can now do just that. No, not foil plans – you can can now use Bluetooth-enabled Blackberry devices to provide internet access to compatible laptops and wireless devices with a new application called Pulse.

“Most high-end mobile phones provide built in dialup networking capability, but the Blackberry has always been a conspicuous exception,” said Daniel Pasco, the Brain Murmurs CEO and Chief Engineer. “Pulse can provide your laptop with wireless internet access anywhere your Blackberry is able to connect to its regular internet service. This is a huge deal for users on the road, at remote offices, airports, and so on.”

I like the attention being given to Mac users. Saves poor folk like Alex King from setting up a bounty. Enjoy being a peeping tom Bond for a day, folks.

    I can’t say about Bluetooth, but the capability to use a USB connection between a computer and a BlackBerry to access the Internet via the BlackBerry has existed for at least a year, and probably much longer. For the 8700, anyway.

    That’s true Ryan. But up until this point there has not been a Bluetooth solution for either platform. And because the USB capability you mention is Windows only – this is the first time Mac users can use their Blackberry to connect to the internet.

    Actually this is the guy who claimed Alex King’s bounty. I’m not sure if this was a product they planned to develop before the bounty, or if it was spurred on by the small bounty and larger potential market.
