The reign of the Sidekick may just be over. In an article from the Chicago Tribune, reporter Eric Benderoff reports that the younger and more hip market has grown out of the Sidekick and are getting more mature in their choices. Their new go-to device? The Pearl.
“The Sidekick is no longer the coolest kid on the block.
That honor belongs to the Blackberry Pearl, a T-Mobile exclusive since September that also will go on sale next month at Cingular Wireless. Not far behind the Pearl is the Dash, made for T-Mobile by Taiwan’s HTC. The Dash is nearly as sleek and thin as Motorola’s Q.”
Wait, did you read that? Even the Tribune is speculating the Pearl will drop with Cingular next month. The article goes on to explain that the Pearl is more business-friendly, but more top-button-undone-loose-tie kind of business, if you get my drift. Any thoughts on this, folks? Is the BlackBerry, more specifically the Pearl, the new Sidekick?
