Q: I loaded an application and now can’t even find my original task or memo pad that came on my 7105t when I purchased the device. Can you tell me or instruct me on how I can get these 2 apps back?
A: Very hard to give you a definitive answer on this one. Possible causes and solutions might be:
• The applications might have gotten unchecked in the Desktop Manager. Try looking through the list of applications in the Desktop Manager and see if they Task and MemoPad apps are unchecked. If so, check them off and they will be re-installed.
• The icons might have gotten hidden. Try alt+clicking on the homescreen and selecting ‘Show All’ (if available). This will show any hidden icons on the home screen.
• Check under the applications folder, they might be in there.
Q: I currently own the pearl. I have to stop there for a second to say that this is almost a perfect device. My question regards embedded media. Is there any way to delete it?
A: The embedded media is too tightly integrated into the OS of the BlackBerry to be removed. You’ll have to navigate around it when saving/viewing your own media.
Q: Is there a way to send a picture from the Picture Library to someone in an email as an attachment? The options are scarce when I am in “Picturesâ€.
A: On the Pearl and future BlackBerries with OS 4.2 on it, there is an option when viewing pictures to ‘Send as Email’ or ‘Send as MMS’ but on the 8700 with OS 4.1, the multimedia management options are very limited. If you have BlackBerry Messenger installed, ‘Sent to Messenger Contact’ should show up in the Pictures application which allows you to send someone a picture that way but not via email.
