Raise your hands – is this news to anyone? Likely not, but now there’s official numbers to prove that BlackBerrys and emails in general cause a decrease in productivity. A study put on by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) found that 85% of the 1,700 business communication professionals interviewed had productivity issues thanks to email. But that’s not the heart-stopper.
“The negative effect on productivity was even higher (93 percent) for users of BlackBerry devices and other personal digital assistants.”
That’s a big number, folks. I wonder if checking BlackBerry sites counts in that negativity. Maybe I should be telling you to get back to work. I enjoy the company too much, though.
