There’ve been rumblings about BlackBerry Maps being available lately, and thanks to some investigative work over at the forums, some interesting links have become available. Although RIM’s yet to officially announce anything, BlackBerry Maps is available for download over at the official BlackBerry site at BlackBerry.com/Maps – pretty exciting. Reviews thus far have been decent – let us know what you think. Huge high fives and thanks to Jibi for the tip.

All of the GPS providers are reviewed at my tips site.

What are you talking about??? While not a Garmin or a Tom Tom, RIM has given you a real-time GPS that holds it’s fix better than the unit in my Bimmer. I have played with over the past two days and it is better than good. If it beeped or talked it would be awesome and it’s all for the low low price of free! Come on are we that hard to please?
Been trying to download for 2 days and get to 99% then my USB/PC link gets dropped 3 times then on reconnect I get an hour glass that goes on forever? Trying to reload a 8130
we need ones (maps) which will work in australia!!!! oh so please make it quickly!!! none of the preinstalled ones will operate down here!
With respect to this application, it is very easy to use on the Blackberry device. However, one of the interesting features is the ability to e-mail someone your location. The trouble with this is there doesn’t seem to be a way to view directly this piece of information on anything but a Blackberry. For example, if you sent this to your Boss and they opened up the e-mail on their PC where it would make the most sense if you were sitting in the office, you would be led down the install path…. of course, this has nothing to do with the PC unless you have the Blackberry USB connected…..
It would be nice that end to end functionality of a feature was thought about. You probably can take the longitude and latitude and get it to show you on another application but that wasn’t the point of sending someone a simple e-mail with a link.
Wow doesnt work on AT&T i guess you need to pay for EVERYTHING regardless if your phone has GPS.. how nice.
