The Pearl’s been causing a lot of head shaking these days, but to no fault of its own – blame the carriers. Just received a pretty heated note from one our readers noting that sure, the Pearl’s been released by Vodafone in Australia, but “is only selling it to corporate customers.” This is just getting ridiculous.
Check out the email in its entirety. At least now, Cingular customers have some company.
“…I believe those who are unfortunately with Vodafone in Australia as a network need to know the stupidity with whom they are dealing with.
Vodafone has officially taken shipment of the Pearl in Australia but is only selling it to corporate customers.
Can I just ask, have they missed the point? Have they not been to the website? Have they not seen the MASSIVE amount of trouble that RIM has gone to in order to market the Pearl as a PERSONAL DEVICE NOT JUST FOR THE CORPORATE WORLD…
Apparently the device MAY be in stock for Vodafone personal customers in January but for now they are happy to leave the device in the warehouse (over the high selling Christmas period) just in case some legal firm wants a blackberry with a camera.
And they wonder why Vodafone’s profit is dropping.”
