Cingular survey says BlackBerry’s go abroad

Comments

The punctual and organized (cough) folks at Cingular have put together a great slew of results regarding how American travelers want their U.S. cell service while on vay-cay (apparently that’s how the cool kids say “vacation” these days).

“Although the majority of Cingular survey respondents preferred communicating via wireless phone over other choices in the survey such as stationary, postcards or using a laptop computer, many still did not know how to use their wireless service abroad.

The main focus of the piece is to push Cingular’s world package. What exactly does that get you?

Cingular World packages allow customers to:
– Receive phone calls around the world when someone dials their local
wireless phone number
– Stay connected to e-mail worldwide, using laptop or portable data
devices, just like at home
– Avoid unfamiliar pay phones or expensive hotel rates
– Get unlimited e-mail at home and abroad with Blackberry device

Interesting read. Thanks, Cingular, for something not entirely disappointing.

I have to agree Cingular and T-Mobile actually have easy and great worldwide services. You can go to their sites find info on coverage and rates before you leave the US.
