BlackBerry Now Available on Hutch Network in India

This is the slowest world domination ever – come on RIM, step it up. All kidding aside, nice to see the BlackBerry getting out there more and more each day. This time, Hutch, one of India’s leading telecom service providers, have sent out a release noting that they’ve partnered with RIM to make BlackBerrys available to all Hutch customers. Well played.

The introduction of BlackBerry further reinforces Hutch’s strong presence in the enterprise mobility segment. On the occasion, Mr. Harit Nagpal, Director Marketing, Hutchison Essar Ltd. said “BlackBerry is a unique and powerful tool that provides seamless connectivity for our customers, even while they are traveling. We are delighted to be able to offer this brilliant service to our customers.”

    I use my BlackBerry 8700G on the Airtel Network in India and it is super-fast. I have used a Nokia 9500 and 9300 on Hutch with their own Hutch Mail but I found their data services very slooow compared to Airtel. One of the reasons why I switched networks.

    I hope that they improve the speed of their data services for the BlackBerry users. But from what I’ve heard, it’s still the same :-(
