I definitely ate my clever flakes this morning with the looks of that title. I’ll stop patting myself on the back to show you this article I stumbled upon that describes the ongoing battle between Palm and their Treo against RIM and their BlackBerry.
It’s always nice to see both sides of the story presented in different areas of the world and get different points of view. The article finishes the way most Star Wars flicks do – with you raising an eyebrow as they question the possible purchase of Palm and citing that 2007 will be an interesting year for the company – no matter what happens.
“The smartphones craze kicked off in earnest when Palm’s deadly rival, Research in Motion, developed the Blackberry as a way to access complex applications while on the run. Initially, Blackberrys had to be linked to corporate servers and so were largely suitable only for business users. But they now run off external servers and RIM’s shares have rocketed by 123% since July.”
