Cingular to rebrand after AT&T buyout?

cingat.jpgLooks like someone went and spent all of their holiday money. On Friday, the FCC approved AT&T’s purchase of BellSouth (and that means Cingular, too), and it looks like they might be making some changes. Maybe AT&T has some sort of issue with orange, but according to a press release issued by the company, “AT&T will re-brand Cingular through a co-branded transition, which is scheduled to start in 2007. Details regarding the Cingular branding will be announced at a later date.” Maybe the ship’ll sail smoother over at Cingular with a new flag – who knows? We’ll keep on top of this story for you.

    I hate at&t.

    I hated at&t wireless. Especially their blackberry business unit.

    Cingular was more appealing, younger, brighter.

    Why do these companies waste so much money renaming and rebranding back and forth?

    All I hope is that this does not lead to the same problem I’ve had with lines that were opened under the blue side having to be transitioned to the orange side. Its a pain calling customer service and finding out after 10 minutes, oh wait you need to talk to blue.

    Agreed with above. How much money is wasted on “ReBranding?”
    I’ve just moved off my old AT&T Blue SIM to Orange. Now, I’ll have to get a new Blue one again…?!?
