That dream of sea-men and women alike has come true as Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines and top competitor Royal Caribbean Cruises International have outfitted the bulk of their ships with cellular technology so their passengers can stay on task while staying at sea.
”You can send text messages and use your BlackBerry just like on land,” says Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen. ”Some people really want to get away, and some people want to check with the kids and the office. It’s really a personal choice.”
And you had better make the right choice, otherwise the BlackBerry could become a personal flotation device courtesy of your significant other.
