Cingular OS upgrade improves battery life?

batteriesbatt.jpgIf you were to compare BlackBerry Cool to, say, classic television show “Cheers”, I would gladly take the roll of Woody Boyd and all of our regular commenters would be welcomed with a boisterous “YOUR NAME HERE!”. Well, thanks to BBCool regular Keith (KEITH!), we’re pointed to a new OS update from Cingular (version 4.2.0.71) that just might improve your battery life. Keith’s not the only one who’s noticing the difference – anyone else feeling the charge? Let us know.

    I am not a super-heavy user of the Pearl BB but have noticed a great improvement in battery life since the latest Cingular OS upgrade. With previous version of OS, I take off phone from charger at 6am and by 7pm, I am down to about 70%. With the upgrade, by 7pm, I am still looking at around 90-92% (this is with my regular day to day use — emails constantly, a few RSS news, sms, phone calls, bluetooth off).
