BBCool: Right, right. Ok, so not only are you believing the hype of the iPhone, you’re contributing to it.
100%. There is no hype. It was funny – the second i say iPhone coming, I called a friend and was like, “Yo, we’re going to the Apple Store. Get ready.†He’ like, “there isn’t an iPhone, its smoke and mirrors.†I said watch… We were refreshing Engadget like the rest of the world just waiting – and boom! I was leaving the office heading to Apple Store, then Jobs said “Juneâ€.
BBCool: Oh, come on – we all knew it was coming.
Well, here’s the thing: we thought it was coming, but we didn’t think the widescreen iPod was with the phone. We thought they were separate.
BBCool: It’s not an iPod – it’s the iPhone with mp3 capabilities or iTunes capabilities.
Dude, it’s an iPod. A full iPod damnit!
BBCool: It’s either one or the other – an iPhone with mp3 or an iPod.
I’m excited – don’t ruin it for me.
BBCool: I think it’s ridiculous that people are saying it’s three devices. The majority of “smart” phones out there have the same capabilities that this one does, and the manufacturers/carriers/etc. don’t whore it out like three different devices like Jobs did. I’m a fan of Apple, but there’s no tricking me here.
I mean, yes and no. In theory you’re right, but it really is an iPod,. And lets see the browser, but as far as we know, it’s OS X, so developers can port apps over extremely easily, I read.
BBCool: We’ll be surfing Safari (Apple’s browser).
Real Safari. Come on, dude. That’s not other devices. If it has Quicktime/flash etc. support, it’s over.
BBCool: Apparently it’s got flash (could be wrong).
Really? Game over. See you later. Going to hibernate ’till May.
BBCool: I’m not giving up on my BlackBerry.
Me either, but you know what – I ask everyone that’s getting a device, do you want email first? or a phone first? And that is still true. With the iPhone, what can you say? Do you need an iPod first? Full internet with all the bells and whistles? Email?
BBCool: I really wish you wouldn’t refer to it as an iPod.
It’s an iPod, damn you! But the BlackBerry is the best at what it does, and that’s email. If it wasn’t for BlackBerry Messenger, I probably would have switched, or at least not been so loyal. The damn PIN. It’s so addictive. How sick of a society are we? Email is too slow now, we PIN each, and then we don’t use PIN-to-PIN, we use BlackBerry Messenger because its even faster.
