I’ll be accepting pats on the back for that title for the next two hours or so. I couldn’t resist when I found this article on Forbes that asks, “Is Your BlackBerry Ruining Your Sex Life?”. Well? Is it? Come on, you can tell me. The article focuses on married CrackBerry addicts, be it just one or both members of the relationship carrying the device, and how so much time is spent on work that there’s barely any time for, you know, play. I don’t expect any of you to let me know how your sex life is going – actually, I’m begging you not to – but just sit back and quietly reflect on this.
“While wireless technology can keep you connected to the office, PDAs are less effective in helping busy executives schedule time for their personal lives, according to Fiona Travis, Ph.D., an Ohio-based psychologist and author of Should You Marry a Lawyer? A Couple’s Guide to Balancing Work, Love and Ambition. “Those who think that the PDA helps them find time are really fooling themselves; it is just another way of avoiding being intimate,†Travis says. This lack of intimacy is all too often the byproduct of our increasing thirst for instant gratification.”
