[...] I like to give credit where credit’s due, apparently others aren’t so kind. Remember those 8800/9XXX notes we shared with you last week? Well, an article from TechWorld.com out of the UK notes that it wasn’t Boy Genius but RIM who leaked the information in order to “stave off the competition of the iPhone.” The article simply goes on to list the same details BG spread to the web last week with no proof of RIM actually being behind these leaks. Bogus, folks. If anyone’s being spoon-fed by RIM, I highly doubt it’s Boy Genius. Just thought we’d clear this up. [...]

I talked to a friend of mine today that works at the local Cingular store and she said she had a meaning this morning about it and it has WiFi and a camera. She said they had slides showing all the nifty new features. She said she figured mid-February releasing.

Of course the fabled 9xxx will have a new processor. The intel processor can’t do W-CDMA, which is another name for UMTS and it’s upgrade, HSDPA. The intel processor can only do GSM/GPRS/EDGE.

I just think that the battery pack on that sucker is going to be huge.

The no WiFi on the 8800 will be a huge disappointment to many, and will no doubt cost Cingular some sales in this unit.
