Podcasts allow for the vast expansion of radio shows, off the limited space that is AM or FM frequency, and onto the Internet, where bandwidth if relatively cheap. It also opens up broadcast possibilities to people who, for some reason or other, don’t pass through a radio station’s gatekeepers. Now, wouldn’t you like to listen to podcasts right on your BlackBerry? It makes all the sense in the world. And as the BlackBerry gains more functionality, it’s going to become easier and easier.

I guess these would be great but I want to listen to them on the road and not at my computer. My Sansa e260 MP3 player doesn't handle MP4s so I am sunk. PLEASE put them on as MP3s and it would be much better.

[...] What? You missed the first one? Unacceptable. Well, now we’re alerting you to the second episode of the BlackBerry Cool podcast, so there’s no excuses this time around. Listen as BlackBerry Cool co-editor Douglas Soltys and I sit and banter back and forth about the release of the BlackBerry 8800, talk about new devices on their way, let our thoughts out about email addiction, with some solid quips mixed in for good measure.
[...] As I mentioned in our podcast, last week I was contacted by theStreet.com’s Priya Ganapati regarding the 8800’s release date. Well, looks like she’s got the piece online, just as the official word dropped last night. She’s calling the 8800 (well, she’s calling it the “Indigo”) a mood-changer, and that this device will finally get RIM out of the $128-$137 price range it’s been sitting at on the market. “Indigo is an important evolution because it offers refinements that make it probably more attractive to business users who also want a device to suit their personal needs,” says Michael Abramsky, an analyst with RBC Capital Markets.
[...] Well, folks. We talked a lot about marketing of the 8800 last week, especially leading up to the cconclusion of our GPS puck giveaway where we asked how you would market the new device (did you find out who won by listening to the podcast?). So I thought I’d take a quick second to give my initial thoughts on the roll-out of the 8800 thus far, and ask for the same from all of you (as is usually the case around here).
